GS1 DataBar Expanded Composite for taller linear bars
Fresh-food and variable-measure retail labels printed on lower-resolution thermal printers benefit from a taller linear-component bar height -- this generator applies a fixed, taller height by default.
Same generator, one preset applied
This experience uses the same GS1 DataBar Expanded Composite capability as the primary generator, with a fixed 20mm bar height ("height": 20) for the linear component.
Example data
The generator is seeded with a bwip-js-verified valid value, distinct from the primary's example.
Workflow
Enter your linear and composite data separated by a pipe character, confirm the preview, then export SVG or PNG for the label artwork.
Job-specific settings
No job-specific options beyond the fixed 20mm bar height are applied here.
Scanning notes
GS1 DataBar Expanded Composite requires a reader capable of decoding both a linear DataBar component and a linked 2D composite component in a single scan.
Common mistakes
A missing pipe separator or an unparenthesized companion AI value in the composite half are the most common rejections; both are unaffected by the height preset itself.
Standard
GS1 DataBar Expanded Composite is defined in the GS1 General Specifications' Composite Symbology rules.
Related
For the linear component alone with no composite data, use the separate GS1 DataBar Expanded generator.
