UPC-E for small North American packaging
Small North American retail packages that cannot fit a full UPC-A use UPC-E's zero-suppressed compact form instead.
Preconfigured for small packaging
This experience sets the bwip-js height option to 20mm ("height": 20). It is an editable rendering preset, not a universal small-package specification.
Example data
The generator is seeded with a bwip-js-verified valid UPC-E value you can replace with your own compressible UPC.
Workflow
Enter a UPC value that follows one of UPC-E's valid zero-suppression patterns, confirm the preview, then export SVG.
Job-specific settings
Keep guard-bar whitespace enabled even at small sizes.
Common mistakes
Using an arbitrary 12-digit UPC-A number that does not follow a valid zero-suppression pattern is the most common rejection.
Standard
UPC-E follows the same ISO/IEC 15420 family as UPC-A.
