Code 11 for thicker bars on thermal-printer labels
Serial-number and asset labels printed on lower-resolution thermal printers benefit from a taller bar height, which is more forgiving of print-head wear and scanner angle -- this generator applies a fixed, taller bar height by default.
Same generator, one preset applied
This experience uses the same Code 11 capability as the primary generator, with a fixed 20mm bar height ("height": 20) instead of bwip-js's own auto-computed default.
Example data
The generator is seeded with a bwip-js-verified valid value, distinct from the primary's example.
Workflow
Enter your data, confirm the preview, then export SVG or PNG for the label artwork.
Job-specific settings
No job-specific options beyond the fixed 20mm bar height are applied here.
Scanning notes
Code 11 requires a reader configured for this symbology specifically -- it is not part of most general-purpose auto-discrimination reader presets by default.
Common mistakes
Entering a letter or symbol other than a dash is the most common rejection; this is unaffected by the height preset itself.
Standard
Code 11 (USD-8) was developed by Intermec for telecommunications equipment labeling.
