HIBC QR Code for pharmacy shelf labels
Hospital and pharmacy labeling teams printing shelf-edge and bin labels use this generator when a more damage-tolerant symbol is needed for a busy handling environment.
Same generator, no special configuration
This experience uses the same HIBC QR Code capability as the primary generator, with error correction raised to High ("eclevel": "H") -- a value the primary's own typed eclevel control can set directly, not a separate workflow.
Example data
The generator is seeded with a bwip-js-verified valid HIBC payload, distinct from the primary's example.
Workflow
Enter your HIBC data, confirm the check character is accepted, then export SVG for the shelf label.
Job-specific settings
No job-specific options beyond the raised error correction are applied here.
Scanning notes
Since the symbol is QR Code-based, keep the same quiet zone a QR Code needs; the raised error-correction level improves scan reliability on wear-prone shelf stock at the cost of a larger symbol.
Common mistakes
A character outside the allowed HIBC set (only digits, capital letters, spaces, and -.$/+%) is the most common rejection.
Standard
HIBC is documented in the ANSI/HIBC Supplier Labeling Standard.
